We’ve just put up a whole new section of free iPhone ringtones at MacMost.com. The idea is to have a bunch of ringtones for people that want something different, but don’t have the time or know-how to make their own with GarageBand.
We’ve organized them into themes. You can easily get the ringtones on your iPhone by just “subscribing” to the podcast feed. This will download the ringtones to iTunes, and then it should automatically sync them over to your iPhone if you have sync turned on. Then you can use them as ringtones in your iPhone settings. You can also download them manually, and listen to previews.

So I downloaded the 1.1.3 software update right away. It isn’t as big of a deal as I had hoped. The map location feature is nice. The rest all has to do with customizing the home screen. That’s not really new functionality, it just makes existing functionality easier to get it. And I suppose it also paves the way for 3rd party applications next month.
I did go ahead and add png icons for all my iPhone games and the MacMost iPhone home page.

Looks like Amazon is testing a new iPhone interface. I was surprised by it when I went to check a price yesterday while out in a store. Just check out their web site while using an iPhone to see. Looks like they are soliciting feedback. I just hope they retain the ability to use the regular site as well.

I did a video today on why I don’t like any of the iPhone cases. You can see it (but not on the iPhone, sorry), at MacMost.com. Although you can see it on your iPhone if you subscribe to the MacMost video podcast, come to think of it.
Anyway, the funny thing is that the one I settled on (Speck) in the video broke about 3 hours after I was done. Now I’m hearing good things about the Otterbox.

Wow. Have you checked out Google lately? If you just go to their main page on the iPhone, it will automatically detect that you are on an iPhone and give you a special page. Very nice. Google is now the most useful iPhone site all of a sudden.
I wonder why Apple didn’t create a killer portal for the iPhone?
